Job Title: Technical Support Specialist

Job Profile:
As a Technical Support Specialist you will be working in a fast paced, dynamic environment.  As part of this leading edge technical support team, you will participate in providing world-class support to a broad base of users. You will provide a unique mixture of solutions-oriented technical support and customer service, resulting in maximum customer satisfaction.

Job Duties:

· Provide application support to customers, pertaining to software functionality, incident resolution and system configuration

· Contribute to overall success of the customer, the support team and the company

· Escalates to and works with Support Engineering to resolve complex support issues

· Document and log support issues and subsequent resolution in CRM tool

· Create knowledgebase articles to address frequently asked questions

Education / Skills:

· Associates degree minimum (Bachelors preferred) or equivalent experience in an IT related field

· Minimum of 1 year hands-on experience supporting a multi-platform application.

· Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server

· Must be a self-starter, have good organization / interpersonal skills and work well both independently and as part of a team

· Superior trouble shooting and analytical skills in conjunction with a structured, systematic approach to problem solving

· Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Fluency in French is required.

Wolf Medical Systems, Canada 's leader in physician EMR systems, is looking for a talented Customer Care Rep to join its growing team.

Reporting to the Manager of Customer Care, the Customer Care Rep responds to customer care/IT support enquiries from Wolf clients. The focus of this important role is to assist Wolf clients in realizing the full benefit from its software through effective and responsive support and active advocacy on behalf of our clients.

Responsibilities:
• Directly respond to enquiries from Wolf clients regarding training, configuration,
hardware/network troubleshooting, software and other customer care issues
• Completely document all issues in the company tracking system
• Triage, appropriately escalate issues and request help as needed
• Contribute to the development process by advocating for meaningful changes.

Requirements:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service and team skills
• Good problem solving, multi-tasking, organization, and time management skills
• Previous customer care/ IT help desk support experience.
• Related education or courses in the customer support/ IT help desk areas.

Assets:
• Experience working in a software company
• Healthcare industry experience

BCIT/UBC Practicum/Work Term opportunity:

Get Free Network Administration Assistance!

The Network Administration and Security Professional Program (NASP) at BCIT/UBC is looking for eight-week Practicum/Work Term placements. Students in this award-winning program achieve vendor certification in A+, Network+, Security+, MCITP (Server 2008), and LPIC-1 (Linux), and receive training for CCNA and CWNA. The purpose of this exercise is to give students on-the-job experience and exposure to IT administration environments.

Most students already have an extensive IT background, and are prepared to perform work in network administration, network security, or second level systems support. Companies get this free assistance fulltime, for an eight-week period.

Some companies that have provided Practicum/Work Term positions in the past include Fairmount Hotel, ICBC, KPMG, Maximizer, McKesson, Sierra Wireless, WorkSafeBC and many more companies. BCIT/UBC students and faculty thank all our participating organizations.
